Giani Raghbir Singh, former Head Granthi of the Golden Temple and former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, has refuted claims circulating on social media. He clarified that he did not appear before any SIT office; instead, members of the SIT visited his home on December 2, 2024. The SIT sought information regarding the proceedings that took place at Akal Takht Sahib.

Giani Raghbir Singh stated that the SIT did not question him about the 328 missing *Swaroops* (sacred copies of the Guru Granth Sahib) or any other such matter. According to him, the discussion was limited to the questions asked of—and the answers given by—Sukhbir Singh Badal and other leaders at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on December 2, 2024.

He further noted that the entire proceedings of that day are documented in TV channel broadcasts, print media reports, and the official records of Akal Takht Sahib. Since the Sikh *Sangat* (congregation) across the world watched and heard the event live, there is no ambiguity regarding the matter.

Giani Raghbir Singh also commented on Giani Harpreet Singh. He pointed out that Giani Harpreet Singh himself had previously recorded his statement before the SIT regarding the issue of the 328 sacred *Swaroops*. Given this, the comments being made by him are surprising.

A balance must be maintained between religion and politics

He emphasized that individuals who have held religious positions should speak with inspiration drawn from their faith and maintain a balance between religion and politics. Giani Raghbir Singh said, "Whatever is spoken at the Guru's abode must be the truth. Politics should be conducted with inspiration drawn from religion."

Ranjeet Singh raised objections against Giani Raghbir Singh

It is noteworthy that recently, Giani Ranjeet Singh, Jathedar of Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib (Patna Sahib), had raised objections against Giani Raghbir Singh. He had argued that since Giani Raghbir Singh appeared before the SIT, he should be excommunicated from the *Panth* (the Sikh community). Giani Ranjeet Singh had alleged that Giani Raghbir Singh did this due to his feud with Akali leader Sukhbir Singh Badal.
